The outstanding success of the CUDOS program over 2003 to 2010 gave the research group the motiviation and commitment to develop and present a new proposal for an exciting seven year research program in photonic integrated cricuits; which the ARC agree to support. From 2011, the scientists collaborated on 6 CUDOS flagship projects and several photonics projects across 7 CUDOS nodes.

In 2017, CUDOS leads Australian expertise in photonics, a technology of fundamental importance in communications, defence, consumer products, and other sectors.

Between 2011 and 2017, over 630 research papers have been published and over 570 global research presentations were given by CUDOS researchers from our seven university nodes.
