Cudos Technology @ Laser World of Photonics

Munich Centre
30 June 2015

Hundreds of visitors stopped at the Cudos Technology booth at laser World of Photonics to talk to inventors from our ANU, University of Sydney and Macquarie University research nodes and have a detailed look at the four prototypes. The event was a promising start to Cudos’ new business venture with many leads generated, some committed sales and talk of global distribution for one of our products, the MIROPA.

“The show was great for the MIROPA team with a lot of interest in the femtosecond mid-infrared optical parametric amplifier. We were pleased that the system worked flawlessly for the whole four days, validating the stability of the MIROPA design,” said Professor Barry Luther-Davies, one of five researchers representing Cudos Technology in Munich.

“In fact our enthusiastic demonstrators decide that they could give the system a ‘good walloping’ to show nothing changed as a result, which is impressive for those who are more used to fragile femtosecond laser systems cosseted in a laboratory environment”.

The MIROPA; together with high performance 3D waveguide devices; MIRLIN – a compact mid infrared spectrometer; and mid infrared fiber lasers, was launched at Laser World of Photonics, Munich on 22-25 June. It is the only trade fair that brings together all optical-technology sectors including research, technology and industry and draws more than 30,000 visitors.
