CUDOS postdeadline paper to be presented at Frontiers in Optics conference

The postdeadline paper 'Brillouin-based Light Storage of 200ps-long Pulses for 70 Pulse Widths' by Kevin Jaksch, Moritz Merklein, Dr Birgit Stiller and the CUDOS teams at the University of Sydney and the Australian National University has been accepted for presentation at the Frontiers in Optics 2017 conference, held in Washington DC, USA on 18-22 September 2017.

The team experimentally demonstrated storage of 200ps-long optical pulses for over 70 pulse widths by transferring the information from the optical to the acoustic domain and back. This result, together with the previously shown coherence [1] and frequency preserving nature [2], makes this approach suitable for advanced coherent communication schemes.

The paper will be presented by Moritz Merklein on Thursday, 21 September, at the Frontiers in Optics 2017 conference in Washington DC, USA.
