The University of Sydney's Vice-Chancellor and Principal Dr Michael Spence surprised CUDOS Director Benjamin Eggleton to thank him for his outstanding research


CUDOS Director Professor Benjamin Eggleton has been announced as winner of the 2017 Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Outstanding Research.

Now in their second year, the University of Sydney's Vice-Chancellor's awards are a whole-of-university, peer-nominated recognition program that acknowledge impact, leadership, entrepreneurship, mentorship and industry and community engagement.

“The work and talent of our staff is a huge part of the reason we are one of Australia’s leading universities,” said Vice-Chancellor and Principal Dr Michael Spence.

“It is a privilege to be part of a remarkable community of teachers, researchers and professional staff working across the University,” he said.

The University of Sydney's Vice-Chancellor and Principal Dr Michael Spence surprised Professor Eggleton while he was going about his normal day at the CUDOS headquarters to personally thank him for his outstanding contributions and to recognise his commitment to excellence in outstanding research (watch below video from 0:55min).
